LINGUAMATICS HIGHLIGHTED AS LEADING SOLUTION PROVIDER IN SEMANTIC SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES REPORT
Two reports available to download from Linguamatics website
(1st September 2010, Cambridge, UK) Linguamatics, a leader in enterprise text mining for the life science and other markets, today announced its inclusion in a newly published report which studies the evolving landscape of semantic software technologies and their applications. The report, published by analyst firm Gilbane Group, a division of Outsell Inc., is titled Semantic Software Technologies: Landscape of High Value Applications for the Enterprise. Areas covered by the report include: the growing need for semantic software to meaningfully manage the rapidly increasing volumes of unstructured data and information; the various solutions available and how these are improving and maturing; and an overview of the tangible benefits seen by adopters of these technologies.
The report, together with a “deep dive” report focused on Linguamatics, highlights the company’s leadership position in the life sciences market with its agile, Natural Language Processing (NLP) -based text mining platform, I2E. It notes how Linguamatics’ technology and expertise leave it strategically well placed to serve other vertical markets including healthcare and homeland security.
“Several key points about Linguamatics came out during the compilation of our study”, commented Lynda Moulton, Senior Analyst at Gilbane and author of the report, “Linguamatics have focussed on leadership in the life science industry to date, and are now well positioned to move efficiently into related vertical markets. Their collaborative approach to business relationships with customers and their partnerships with complementary technologies, coupled with their focus on excellent service to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, has enabled them to build a strong and loyal customer base.”
I2E, Linguamatics’ agile, scalable enterprise text mining software, provides rapid discovery of new intelligence from unstructured text, and is used widely by life science based companies including most of the global pharmaceutical top 10. Knowledge driven organizations face the challenge of filtering ever-increasing volumes of text information to gain actionable knowledge. I2E enables them to exploit available information and find intelligent answers to high value questions in real time.
Roger Hale, COO of Linguamatics said: “This report is an important contribution to raising awareness of the value that semantically based software technologies such as I2E can bring to an organization. The information and data challenges our customers face continue to drive demand for the Linguamatics solution, where rapidly identifying, extracting and analyzing the key facts and connections from unstructured data can dramatically impact decision making.”
Gilbane Group reports that life sciences, publishing and media have been relatively quick to adopt semantic technologies due to their knowledge driven nature and the very large amounts of unstructured information they need to deal with.
The report, Semantic Software Technologies: Landscape of High Value Applications for the Enterprise, will be available from the Gilbane Group website in September, but is already available by visiting the Linguamatics website at www.linguamatics.com/welcome/company/info.html.
